Dr. Hukam Chand Sharma (Ganeshia), popularly known as Dr. H.C. Ganeshia, is a distinguished Senior Advocate, constitutional expert, and respected public figure from Rajasthan. Born on 9 May 1954 in Moroli Daang village of Bharatpur district, he completed his LL.B. and D.L.L. from the University of Rajasthan and began his legal practice in 1979.
After moving to the Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur, in 1986, he established himself as one of the state’s leading legal minds. With over four decades of experience, he has appeared before the Supreme Court of India, the Rajasthan High Court, and various judicial forums across the country, earning recognition for his legal expertise, professional integrity, and commitment to justice.
A member of the Rajasthan Bar Council since 13 March 1979, Dr. Ganeshia has worked closely with eminent judges, academicians, administrators, and legal scholars. His distinguished career reflects a lifelong dedication to upholding constitutional values, strengthening the justice system, and serving society through the law.

Dr. Ganeshia’s academic and intellectual contributions have earned him several prestigious honorary doctorates. In 2018, he was awarded the Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.) by Ajeenkya D.Y. Patil University at a convocation attended by former President of India Pratibha Patil and Dr. D.Y. Patil. He has also received honorary distinctions including Doctor of Laws (DLL), multiple D.Litt. degrees from reputed institutions, and an honorary doctorate from GTV University.
Beyond the legal profession, Dr. Ganeshia has made significant contributions to education, culture, and public life. He served as an Executive Council Member of Pondicherry University and a Board of Management Member of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University through nominations by the President of India. As Chancellor and Global Chancellor of various international literary and cultural institutions, he has actively promoted education, language, and cultural exchange at both national and global levels.
